my washed iPod
So, I guess around four or five months ago I washed my iPod in my laundry. I of course thought it was toast. I opened it up to let it dry out and plugged it into my MacBook to no avail. I figured I would just store it just in case. Well, I plugged the 1st gen nano into my MacBook just a couple hours ago and nothing happened. I then unplugged it and pushed all the buttons in a bummed out act. It came on. Sweet. So after I did a hard reset the nano said that it needed to be restored. Plugged it in and iTunes began to restore it. I then got an error stating that it could not be restored due to it being busy.
“iPod cannot be restored because it is busy.”
I thought that I could use Disk Utility to reformat to the disk. Had a input/output error. Ok. Did a quick google search and found the hack to access the 1st gen’s hidden options. Went to the bottom option and hit reset. Plugged the iPod back up and it restored without a hitch.
Rad.
